Hybrid

Just finished drawing a t-shirt design for my organization. Technologically-challenged me still had to draw the design by hand. At least this time I was using a software program to color it. I lost the Adobe Illustrator after my computer was infected last time and now I have to use ArcSoft PhotoImpression, which works just fine. Anyway, I only know how to use the most basic functions of Adobe Illustrator so it doesn't matter. LKS is a pharmacy-related service org (ladies only). Yup, this year we're hosting the regional meeting. It'll be in late July and I don't know if I'll be back to Lexington yet. 3 more days before my trip begins ^-^

motivated

Finally updated my website. Last night I spent 6 hours gluing tiny pictures onto construction paper...a really sticky situation :p
Next Monday at this time my family will be on the flight to Hong Kong. I'm excited, but not really motivated to pack up...yet.
Just got my Natural Therapeutics handbook in the mail today!! Better start finishing some reading assignments now.

Experiences--past and future

The weather is great today, nothing like yesterday's thunderstorm. I took the Disaster Assessment course in the Red Cross chaper office last evening and they taught us about how to assess the level of damage to buildings after a natural (or non-natural) disaster hit. I'm sure some of the Red Cross volunteers were doing this assessment thing after the storm last night as the news said many counties were flooded. I'll have to take one more course before they'll actually call me in to do something like this at the diaster sites.

Today is the second day of the Kentucky Society of Health-System Pharmacists meeting in Louisville, Kentucky. My brother and I were supposed to introduce speakers at 10am. We got there early and they were still serving breakfast, so we had breakfast 2 times this morning. The speaker I introduced is actually the cousin of one of my classmates! The hotel where the meeting took place was right outside Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. You can see the roller-coasters clearly in the parking lot. I went to that park once when I was still in high school, and I rode every single thrill ride there. It was awesome ^-^

gray and blue...and some chocolate

I can still hear the thunder but the rain has stopped for a while...
Just checked out some online sites selling the CD "Something to Be" by Rob Thomas. Really, really like his music and his voice...I want this CD so badly but can't afford one right now... The pharmacy I'm working in only allows me to work 2 evenings a week this month, and I need to work more to get the $$$.
I baked some raspberry chocolate cup cakes for the b-day of my mom's friend's 10-year-old kid. Poor kid~he has fatal allergic reaction to peanuts and his mom's just scared to death to buy him any processed food containing chocolate in it since the equipment usually processes nuts as well.

happy day (all trivial things)

1: Mom loves the scones I baked yesterday. We shared them with some of mom's friends and they all love them, although the bottom of the scones got little burned...
2: I heard from a classmate today and he's enjoying a biking trip in France. That's nice. I wish I can see the beautiful landscape there. Umm... last time I went to France was about 10 to 11 years ago. I still remember the chocolate crepe I had in a park near the Eiffel Tower...
3: My brother said he liked the soup base (for noodles) I cook. He never cares about food so it's quite surprising to hear that. Maybe I should cook that more often ^-^
4: I finally finished coping all the phone numbers from my mom's old phone book to a new one (I started on this last August). The old one is so unorganized that there are numbers with no names, or same numbers on 3 different pages. I'm glad that mom doesn't mind me organizing the phone numbers into categories.
5: Mom and I wrapped the gifts for my cousin's baby today. He'll be a daddy in early June (probably around June 4). There's a good chance that the baby will be born on my birthday.
6: Saw many black bears and raccoons on TV. So cute!!!! >_< I want to go to that ranch in Hokkaido, Japan to see them! Mom missed the TV show and I showed her what the bears were doing when people threw food to them... I'm sure I'll dream about these bears again tonight...

Bad Habits & etc.

Every time I see my friend sign up something, I do the same. Just can't help it.
(Kimberly Clements, thanks for informing me about this blog thingy. )
Final exams are over. It's nice that I can wake up as late as I want (usually around 8am o_-), but I kinda miss seeing my classmates...
