Ah! Trauma-rama! Blah, blah, blah

Trauma Surgery rotation this month...

Things go slower during the holiday season. Now down to about 20 floor patients a day under the service of Surgery Blue at UKMC vs. the usual 30-60 patients a day.

Some fun (and some scary) doctors and medical school students in the team.

Pharmacy resident is kind of bossy.

My preceptor is nice but cannot stop talking bluegrass music and mandolin.

Plenty of opportunities to get free food (usually by drug reps) but you just need to pay attention to them.

Some hospital rooms smell really funky. ICU is a better place to hang out. 4 North and the Markey Cancer Center have the most fancy patient rooms (seems to be fun for a weekend retreat).

Being asked frequently on dosing questions.

ER is always chaotic.

Getting up at 3:30 am and usually working til 4-5pm. Eating an extra breakfast a day has put some pounds on me pretty quickly.

Traffic at 4:40am is awesome--no red lights all the way to work!

Hanging in there....(to be continued)
