slippery

Rain...again.
Got a fire drill this morning. It seems like we have fire drill too often in the pharmacy college that when the real thing hits people will be drinking their Starbucks and taking their time walking away from the building.
This skit for LKS this year is gonna be great. It's based on the film Wedding Crashers (although I've not seen the film). Hopefully we can win the $100 this year. The 2nd-year girls are really working hard on it and it's my pleasure to be one of the supporting casts. We all got a little wet under the rain while shooting the footage in a park under the rain this afternoon, but it was so much fun ^-^
Just received a letter from Ruth. The pic of her family is so cute (next time little Jarred better be awake :p). That cheers up my day ^-^

hate technology...again

I was trying to look for ringtone downloads for my cell phone. Picked one I really like, but in fact that website sent me 2 SMS costing $2.99 each and I got nothing in return. I'm soooooo mad now...

technology

Got a new cell phone yesterday. The old one I have been using is not supported by Cingular anymore so I was forced to get a new phone (D@MN) >_< I have to pay extra for the phone since I use the prepaid service and I can't keep my old cell phone number (D@MN again). Although I can take pictures with the phone, the quality of the pics is horrible.

hot, water

2 days ago it was 102 degrees here in Lexington. It must be hotter today in Newport/Cincinnati. Felt like dehydrated all the time even when I was surrounded by all the water inside the aquarium...
My family drove all the way to Cincinnati to have dim-sum lunch today. Gas is expensive, making this lunch ultra expensive. Then we headed straight to Newport Aquarium. Nice, but crowded. Saw some pretty fishes, some ugly fishes (some are really really bad-looking >_<), cute otters & penguins. I gotta hold a small parrot.

There was something called "Seafood Fest" at Newport on the Leeve today. For about $5 you can try some grilled fish or fried shrimp dishes (whole broiled Maine lobster for $9.95). Cheaper than what you can get in a restaurant, but the challenge was to eat that hot food outdoor without getting a heat stroke.

Just finished ordering some photos online. Took me forever to upload them and adjust the crop of every single picture.

summer summary

1. Got back from Hong Kong on Jul 26. Long trip--almost 30 hours. A 3-hour delay with the flight from Chicago to Lexington...so annoying. Luckily, gotta buy a manga magazine (which came with a free clock) while waiting for the connection flight in Japan.

2. Helped to host the LKS Regional Meeting here in Lexington. A pretty neat 3-day event. Gotta meet lots of nice girls from different states (and 2 guys from Canada). Sold >50 t-shirts with my design on them (slightly modified from the designed I posted here earlier).

3. Drove to St. Louis with my family last week. Stayed there for 2 nights in a very unique hotel (old English decor). Gateway Arch, river cruise, zoo, art museum, history museum, brewing plant tour, farmer's market, bowling museum. Very nice.

4. Learned to knit last weekend. Still working on a scarf. Too many scarves in my closet now...

5. Tried to make tiramisu today. Just used FF cream cheese, FF cool whip, lady fingers, instant coffee, cocoa powder, hot chocolate mix, and powdered sugar. Tasted pretty much like the real thing but a lot less fat. Gotta make that again.
