mad season

Interview for naturalization went really well... it lasted less than 15 minutes but the 1.5-hour wait was terrible.

Flew back to Hong Kong the day after. The flight from Lexington to Chicago was delayed for 2 hours due to "bad weather" in Chicago. We (mom, brother, and I) arrived at Chicago--bright and sunny, but a little wet on the ground--with less than 30 minutes to catch our connecting flight straight to Hong Kong. We made it on the plane, but not one of our luggages... It had a nice stay in Chicago for 2 extra days...

Shopping, eating, more shopping, and more eating. That's my days so far... Still have 5 more manga magazines to read. That will keep me busy for another day or two (I'll have to read slowly...)

tasty

May 29 Taste of Cincinnati (a food festival in downtown)
Really hot that day. My brother won a key lime pie (yup, the entire pie, 8 in. diameter) and I ate 1/4 of it for dessert.
Blood sugar level--high

June 1 Tiramisu ice cream
Free scope from Baskin Robins. Good thing to join their Birthday Club.
Blood sugar level--higher

June 4 Tiramisu
Free chocolate cake from Romano's Macaroni Grill, but my brother & mom shared it. How could I skip the lady fingers layered with mascapone cream dusted with cocoa powder deal? By the way, there was candle on the chocolate cake. So cute :)
Blood sugar level--even higher

June 5 Tiramisu...again
A few of my pharmacy school friends and my dear undergrad friend celebrated b-day with me at Johnny's Carino. These girls sang a birthday song to me--something I haven't heard for more than 10 years! How sweet (so are the cup cakes)! Still had to order a tiramisu after having a cup cake... It was good. Got a lovely candle with water lily scent--my favorite :)
Blood sugar level--super high

June 6 Home
Getting bored and so I update my blog. Mom gave me some cash for b-day... Well, sweet. That's always awesome (better than gift card or something). I'll probably have sushi instead of cakes today. Gotta let my blood sugar level settle down a little bit (umm...maybe I'll order that green tea ice-cream....)

June 9 Garden Cafe at Flag Fork Herb Garden
Already made a reservation for my free birthday lunch. My preceptor at my rotation site last month bought me lunch at this place and it was soooo fresh and good. The red raspberry lime cheesecake had both good look and taste :) They only open Wed-Sat for during lunch hours. There's a gift shop & they grow their own herbs & flowers. What a neat place!
