long..really long...days & UA idiots--PART 1

Never choose United Airline...they messed us up really bad AGAIN!! After traveling 13 hours from Hong Kong to Chicago (with about 4 hours of sleep), our connecting flight to Lexington yesterday evening was cancelled due to "some reason"-- which was "air traffic control" according to one UA employee and "bad weather" according to another. One of them had to be lying since the weather was perfect yesterday. The first employee who re-schedule our flight gave us two options: either a stand-by to Louisville that night or a confirmed seat to Lexington in the afternoon the next day. We picked the first option, but later found out from another customer service counter that we were allowed to get a confirmed seat for the next day and a stand-by for that night. By the time we wanted to get confirmed seatings to Lexington, mom, my brother, and I would have to travel on separate flights. Mom called her friend to picked us up at Louisville airport in case we could get onto the flight to Louisville yesterday night...

(okay...too sleepy....keep falling asleep and have to stop now)

smile/frown

Mom's problem of losing her temper for no reason is getting serious. I can't quite recall a moment when my family has had a peaceful time together. Really, really, really sick of this!!! I'm having tears in my eyes again....
Yesterday, mom, my brother, and I went to the Hong Kong Disneyland. Mom had the same problem. She became very hateful when I ate a few cookies instead of the entire packet as dinner (I could've died of thirst even if I ate half of the packet). I couldn't stand her hateful look, so I had to eat lot of other junk food just to please her (and indeed her attitude turned back to normal). I hate having a mom like this... :(
Anyway, the park is kind of small. We rode on every attraction. The live performances and the firework (which was about 20 minutes long) were the greatest! Too bad I didn't spend enough time in the gift shops.

say good bye

I went out with my high school friend yesterday--had some sushi for lunch and then went window shopping. I was a little bored since we didn't have much to say (not like when I'm with some other pharmacy school friends). I guess she doesn't like the types of stuff I like (cartoon, manga, assessories, music...). She's really a detective-novel-anytime person.

I got a haircut & highlight this morning-afternoon (yup, about 2 hours from 11-1). It's alright. I'm flexible with whatever it turns out and I just keep my hair straight this time. 3 hair stylists helped to fix my hair this time (o_O too many cooks spoil the soup??) and at least 2 of them are younger than me. One of them really liked to ask questions... "Are you on summer break?" "How old are you?" "You live alone in the US?" "Dating anyone?" "Where do you work part-time?" "How much money do you make per hour?" ... I didn't say "Hey, it's rude to ask about a lady's age and salary", so I gave fake answers... o_o

Just a while ago I got an e-mail saying that my GeoCities site exceeds bandwidth limits. @#^(%* (trying to curse such policy that I don't really understand) I'm just too lazy to fix it so I guess I'll leave it alone and let it become another "ghost site" on the internet.... (the name "ghost site" sounds cool). Good bye, my GeoCities site (I'll miss you)!

Dear Yahoo! GeoCities customer,
We're writing to notify you that your Yahoo! GeoCities free web site http://www.geocities.com/hwchchai was unavailable to visitors 3 time(s) in the past 90 days because your site exceeded its bandwidth limit.
Bandwidth, or data transfer, is a measure of the amount of information that your web site visitors view and download. Your free GeoCities web site comes with a healthy 3GB of monthly bandwidth, which is measured each hour. Whenever you exceed that limit, your site becomes unavailable for up to one hour.
Why Have I Exceeded My Limit?Exceeding your bandwidth limit can happen for a number of reasons, such as including very large files on your site or seeing a significant increase in site traffic.
How Can I Prevent My Site From Being Shut Down Again? To help avoid interruptions in service:
Remove some site content, especially large files such as images, music files, movies, and animations. Reducing the information that your site visitors can view and download reduces your bandwidth usage.
Upgrade your account to a web hosting plan with more bandwidth and no hourly limits. With more bandwidth, you can accommodate more visitors and content as your site traffic grows. Learn more about our web hosting plans by
visiting GeoCities today.
If you do not reduce your bandwidth usage or increase your bandwidth limit, your web site could become unavailable at times when your site is attracting the most visitors. Please
visit GeoCities today and take action to ensure that your site remains available.
Best regards,
The Yahoo! GeoCities team
