Casino...so what

Last Wednesday my family went to Macau, an hour by ship away from Hong Kong. In the morning we went see some very old Portuguese houses and shop around a chic shopping district. There are shops that sell traditional Chinese baked goods and BBQ snacks everywhere and they let you try everything. Before we had lunch, we were already stuffed with all those free almond cookies and sweet egg pastries. (Yum!)

In the afternoon, we walked down to see a historic house and visited a couple galleries on the way.

After that, we went to the Macau Tower. We enjoyed some afternoon snacks in one of the cafe there and then went up to the observation deck. The observation deck is more than 300m above ground and part of the floor is made of glass! Mom and Dad were a little bit afraid to step on the glass and look down...

The last place we visited that day was a very new casino called Sands Macao near the shore. It was already so crowded on a weekday and I can't imagine how crowded it'll be on weekends! Dad was very interested in gambling, but my brother and I were more interested in the free beverages there. After all, I didn't let Dad bet on anything. We caught the 7:30pm ship to Hong Kong and had dinner after we arrived.
